2027 Reimbursement Structure & Rate Changes

In an effort to increase the length of appointments for us Speech-Language Pathologists, The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has restructured our billing codes.

Currently we’re paid a flat rate, regardless of our appointment’s length or treatment targets. This has prompted some clinics to reduce the length of speech & language appointments in order to increase their revenue.

Beginning in 2027 our billing will vary by the type of service as well as the length of service. Since CMS uses RVUs (Relative Value Units) to compare services and their prices I’ve used these RVUs to calculate my new prices based on my 2026 rate. You can see my new prices for services here…

In the coming months I’ll review these changes and how they’ll affect each family’s co-payment/co-insurance with each of my families so they can make informed decisions about the length of our appointments going forward.
