I’ve had to make the very difficult decision to retire my speech therapy dog, Zooey, when she almost bit a couple kids in a single day. This is very unlike Zooey and all my families who’ve been working with her for years have been as surprised as I was.
I think her behavior might be linked to my divorce in 2022 and/or her old age (she’s 10 and that’s 63 in Basset Hound years). Regardless, I want to make sure everyone (including Zooey) is feeling comfortable and she was obviously scared when she had her reaction.
So Zooey is retiring to be come a speech therapy model/mascot! How many of us can say we retired to become a model? š¤£
